Jiangsu, China (24th) announced that a batch of beer imported from the United States has tested positive for COVID-19 nucleic acid, but the beer is still stored in warehouses and has not yet entered the market. The official said that relevant personnel are being collected.

The Tianjin Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention announced on (24th) that a positive nucleic acid reaction was detected on the outer packaging of a batch of beer imported from the United States. This batch of beer has been sealed and the goods have not flowed into the Tianjin market.

The statement stated that the beer was imported from the United States in batches from October 20, 2020 to January 6, 2021, and arrived at Tianjin Port, and then stored in a logistics cold storage in Ninghe District, Tianjin.

The statement pointed out that after the initial investigation, a total of 32 related personnel had been exposed to risks due to work or close contact. They have been controlled and sampled. Among them, 16 have a negative nucleic acid test result, and the other 16 are undergoing sampling.

In addition, related companies in the storage park listed 1,066 people and required home isolation and sampling. The results have not yet been released. The remaining investigations and testing are still ongoing.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, China has repeatedly stated that it has tested positive for nucleic acids in different external environmental samples. In the early stage, a series of imported frozen packaged foods were suspected to have caused multiple dock workers or frozen storage personnel to be infected. From the end of last year to the beginning of this year, Viruses have been detected on the outer packaging of several auto parts. Recently, imported ice materials and cherries have been reported to contain viruses.
