Malaysian Senior Minister pointed out that the government has stipulated that anyone with more than 150,000 confirmed cases of Covid-19 may not enter Malaysia. People who are currently prohibited from entering the country include the United States, Brazil, France, Saudi Arabia and Italy.

“After discussing with the Ministry of Health and the Immigration Bureau, we have reached a consensus that we will add more high-risk countries (list), that is, with more than 150,000 confirmed cases, we will restrict the entry of people from these countries.”

The government announced yesterday that from next Monday (September 7), the border will be tightened and long-term visa holders from India, Indonesia and the Philippines will be prohibited from entering the country. Ismail said that the latest ban came into effect with the ban announced yesterday.

He pointed out that the affected persons include Malaysian permanent residency (PR) holders, Malaysia Second Home Project (MM2H) visa holders, Professional Visit Pass (PLIK) holders, residence visas, Malaysian citizens Relative visas and students.

However, he said that if they have to enter Malaysia in any emergency, they will have to see whether the immigration department approves their application. He said that the Ministry of Health will announce the list of countries that are prohibited from entering Malaysia next week.
