Three gunmen broke into the University of Kabul in Afghanistan on Monday and brutally attacked for several hours. At least 22 people were killed and another 22 were injured. Students in the classroom were lying in a pool of blood. The terrorist organization “Islamic State” (IS) declared a crime.

According to comprehensive media reports, riots are currently raging across Afghanistan. The incident at Kabul University was the second attack on an educational institution in Kabul within two weeks.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of the Interior said that one of the gunmen detonated his body while the remaining two gunmen were killed during an exchange of fire with the security forces.

The survivor later described the horror scene at the time, which began at 11 am local time (2:30 pm Malaysia time) on Monday when a suicide attacker detonated a bomb and died on campus.

Officials said that then two men armed with guns started shooting, and hundreds of students on the scene fled, racing to climb the surrounding walls.

The horrible photos posted on the Internet showed that the body of the murdered student was lying beside the desk and chair. A surviving student told a local TV channel, “They opened fire…all of my classmates fell in a pool of blood, dead and injured”; and said that he escaped by climbing out of the window.

The Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan stated that most of the casualties were students.
