Today is the ninth “China National Traffic Safety Day”. Statistics show that at present, China has more than 360 million motor vehicles and 450 million motorists, making it a veritable automobile power.

But at the same time, tens of thousands of people are killed in traffic accidents across the country every year, and an average of 1 person is killed in a car accident every 8 minutes. Data shows that in addition to drunk driving, “three supers and one fatigue” and other illegal behaviors, some uncivilized driving behaviors also seriously threaten road safety!

According to data released by the Ministry of Public Security in October this year, as of September 2020, the number of motor vehicles nationwide has reached 365 million, of which 275 million are cars; there are 450 million motor vehicle drivers, of which 410 million are car drivers.

China has become a veritable automobile power, but with it, road traffic safety issues have become more prominent.

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, in 2018, there were 244,937 traffic accidents nationwide, with 63,194 deaths; direct property losses were 13.84559 million yuan.

This means that, on average, one person is killed in a car accident almost every eight minutes.

From the perspective of vehicle models, the number of traffic accidents and deaths caused by cars is the highest. In 2018, there were 166,906 car accidents in China, resulting in 46,161 deaths, 169,046 injuries and direct property losses of 118,716,600 yuan.

Road traffic accidents are a serious threat to the lives of children and young people.

According to the “Review Report on the Status of Children and Adolescents Injuries in China” issued by the China Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of Chronic Noncommunicable Diseases and the Global Child Safety Organization in 2017, from 2010 to 2015, injuries were the leading cause of deaths among adolescents and children aged 0-19 in China Causes, accounting for 40%-50% of all deaths, drowning, road traffic injuries and falls/falls are the top three causes of injury deaths.
