Robinson Department Store announced the closure of the last two stores in Singapore, which not only triggered a panic buying trend, but also many people worried that the gift certificates would not run out and they were sold online at reduced prices.
Since Friday, the online sales platform Carousell has many users reselling Robinson’s gift vouchers, and most users cut the sale by about 10 SGD.
One user sold the gift certificate of 600 SGD at a discount of 540 SGD, and some users sold the gift certificates separately, and sold multiple SGD 10 gift certificates at 8.90 SGD.
“8World” reported earlier that after the Robinsons Office announced its liquidation and would close the last two stores in Singapore, a large number of people went to long queues, and many of them wanted to use up the gift certificates.
As Robinsons is already in the liquidation process, the gift certificate can only be used to pay for half of the shopping amount in the mall.
