This morning (24th), two incidents occurred in the Sungei Tengah Lodge on Chu Gang Road, Lao Cai. A guest worker was rescued from the top of a dormitory in a dangerous place, and another guest worker hanged himself.

The video went viral on social media today. One of the videos shows a guest worker standing on the edge of the top floor of the dormitory with his head bowed.

The video was shot from the window of one of the rooms, and many guest workers can be seen gathering around the window. About a minute later, another person suddenly rushed to the guest worker and quickly hugged him off the edge of the top floor. Cheers broke out at the scene.

A 19-year-old man was arrested under the Mental Health Act.

In addition, the police also confirmed that an unnatural death occurred in the guest dormitory at Block 512, Old Cai Chugang Road. They received a call for help at 7:17 this morning. The deceased was a 37-year-old man. Medical staff rushed to the scene and confirmed that the man died on the spot.

The video circulating on the Internet showed a black car parked downstairs in the dormitory, preparing to send away the body of the deceased. According to other dormitory guest workers, the guest worker hanged himself in the kitchen of the dormitory.
Initial investigation by the police revealed that there was no suspicious cause of the man’s death and the investigation is still ongoing.
