《Singapore Daily News Oct 4》George Russell secured pole position for the 2025 Singapore Grand Prix after delivering a brilliant lap for Mercedes. He clocked a fastest time of 1:29.158, edging out Red Bull’s Max Verstappen by just 0.182 seconds.

This marks Russell’s first pole of the season and a major morale boost for Mercedes, who have struggled to match Red Bull’s pace in recent races.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc qualified third, while the rest of the top 10 featured strong showings from McLaren and Aston Martin.

The qualifying session took place under the floodlights of the Marina Bay Street Circuit, renowned for its demanding layout and unique night race atmosphere.

Russell said after the session:

“The team worked incredibly hard, and the car felt fantastic tonight. It’ll be a tough race tomorrow, but we’re in a strong position.”

The race itself will be held on Sunday, October 5, with fans expecting a thrilling battle on one of Formula 1’s most iconic circuits.
