《Singapore Daily News Oct 3》The Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) has announced on 2 October 2025 that the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) will conduct live-firing and demolition exercises from Monday, 6 October to Monday, 13 October 2025. The exercises will take place on several islands and their surrounding waters, including Pulau Sudong, Pulau Senang, and Pulau Pawai.

Exercise Details & Safety Guidelines

During the period, the designated islands and their adjacent waters will be declared live-firing zones, with strict safety and control measures in place.

The public is advised to avoid these islands and waters, as well as prohibited waters near the Changi Naval Base and Tuas Naval Base.

Live-firing exercises will also be conducted in the Pasir Laba (SAFTI) live-firing area.

Military exercises will also occur on land across multiple training zones including Seletar, Marsiling, Jalan Bahar, Neo Tiew, Lim Chu Kang, Tuas, Upper Jurong, and more. The use of blanks and thunderflashes is expected, and loud noises may be heard.

The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) will participate in an exercise near Pulau Brani on 13 October, potentially resulting in aircraft noise.

Safety Advice

Entering gazetted live-firing or military training areas without authorization is an offense.

Sea vessels passing through the Western Johor Straits during this period must stay within the 75‑metre navigable channel and avoid straying into live-firing boundaries.

The public should steer clear of restricted island, coastal, and naval areas to ensure safety.

Loud noises may occur during the exercises—residents and visitors in nearby areas are advised not to panic.
