《TodayAsiaNews Sep 22》That a memorial service for Charlie Kirk, a political ally of US President Trump and a conservative influencer, was held in Glendale, Arizona, on the afternoon of September 21st. Both Trump and renowned American entrepreneur Elon Musk appeared at the service.
According to US media reports, this was the first time the two had appeared together publicly since Musk resigned as head of the Department of Government Effectiveness (DOGE) in late May. At the memorial, the two were photographed sitting next to each other, shaking hands and chatting.
Kirk was shot and killed while giving a speech in Utah on September 10th. Security was tight at the memorial service, held at a 63,000-seat arena in Glendale, Arizona. Musk was once a staunch ally of Trump. In the 2024 US presidential election, Musk fully supported Trump and the Republican Party and served as head of Trump’s Department of Government Effectiveness. However, the two sides recently clashed over issues such as the “Big, Beautiful” tax and spending bill, leading to a heated exchange of words. Musk even announced the formation of a new “American Party.”
