Militants attacked a Nigerian middle school with more than 300 students missing

Aminu Masari, the governor of Katsina State in northwestern Nigeria, said on the 13th that a boarding school in the state was attacked by unidentified militants and 333 students are still missing.

According to Masari, the attack occurred on the evening of the 11th. There were 839 students in the attacked middle school. After the attack, some students who fled returned to school. Among the missing students, some were kidnapped by militants, and some fled without whereabouts.

Masari said that security personnel are searching for missing students or trying to get in touch with their parents, and the specific number of kidnapped students is being verified.

As of now, no organization has announced that it has made this attack. All boarding schools in the state have been closed, and the police are pursuing militants.

Nigerian President Buhari issued a statement on the 12th, condemning the attack and instructing the Nigerian security department to pursue the attackers and ensure the safety of students.
