China’s pork wholesale price per kilogram has fallen below 40RMB

From October 26 to November 1, China’s national market prices of edible agricultural products dropped by 0.9% from the previous week. Among them, the wholesale price of pork was 39.26 RMB per kilogram, down 3.5% from 40.7RMB the previous week. A review found that the wholesale price of pork has fallen for 10 consecutive weeks.

The main reason for the fall in pork prices is the increase in production and supply. The deputy director of the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said that from June to September this year, the stock of reproductive sows and live pigs continued to grow. Following this trend, it is confident that the annual pig production capacity will be basically restored to near normal levels.
