Malaysia cannot find jobs for the unemployed and hopes to fully open its borders with Singapore as soon as possible

Malaysia’s Johor State Minister Hasni said that he hopes to reach an agreement with Singapore as soon as possible to fully open the border because the Johor state Gov cannot find jobs for 100,000 Malaysians who may lose their jobs.

Malaysia’s “The Star” quoted Hasni as saying that Johor’s current unemployment rate is as high as 18%, with as many as 35,000 unemployed.

In addition, 5% to 10% of businesses in the urban area have closed down.

Hasney worries that if the situation continues, as many as 100,000 people may lose their jobs.
