Pakistani man accused of “blasphemy” shot dead in trial

BBC reported on the 29th local time that in the northern Pakistani city of Peshawar, during the trial, a man who was convicted of gun murder was shot and killed by a gunman in court. The gunman was arrested on the spot. The defendant was named Nasim and was charged with “blasphemy” in 2018.

How the gunman brought the weapon into the court is unclear. BBC reported that allegations of blasphemy often lead to violent attacks.
